The forthcoming events and activities in Bruisyard and surrounding villages
Food hygiene course - Saturday afternoon 13 March: In the Village Hall from 2.00 to 6.00pm. The course will lead to the award of the Basic Food Hygiene Certificate which is a mandatory requirement for all those involved in preparing food for public events and functions. Very favourable rates have been negotiated - the cost is £20 per person (normally costs £50 pp) - refreshments are included. Soup & Sweet Lunch - Wednesday 17 March: In the Village Hall at 12.30pm. Lunch for £3 in aid of St Peters Church and the village hall. Please contact John & Teresa McKee on 01728 663515 to book, or email John McKee
Alde Community Council AGM - Wednesday 17 March: The annual general meeting will be held in Bruisyard Village Hall on Wednesday 17 March at 7.00pm. The AGM will be followed by an ARCHIVE FILM SHOW from 7.30pm (approx).
Refreshments and Raffle. All members and non-members welcome.
Wine tasting - Friday 19 March: A wine tasting evening of selected white wines from across the world in the Village Hall from 7.00pm. Includes cheese platter. Tickets £12.50. Tickets will also be available for sale at the Coffee Morning on Sat 13 February.
ACC Spring Flower Show 2010 - Saturday 27 March: The Rendham-Sweffling-Bruisyard Annual Spring Flower Show sponsored by the Alde Community Council will be held at Sweffling Hut from 2.00pm onwards. Admission 50p (under 12s free) includes tea and biscuits. Entry forms from John McKee (tel: 663515) or click here to download. Entry forms must be submitted by Saturday 20 March.
Sausage and Mash evening - Saturday 10 April: At 7.30pm in the Village Hall. Rupert's sausages, mash and peas - followed by live music. Proceeds in aid of 'Bruisyard Young People'. Bruisyard Open Weekend - Friday 23 July to Sunday 25 July: A weekend of activities supported by Suffolk County Council and the London 2012 olympics. The weekend will start with an art exhibition in the Village Hall with a preview evening on Friday 23 July. On Saturday 24 July there will be a 'Children's Olympic Games' followed by a hog roast. In the evening, there will be the official opening ceremony for the Village Hall which will be followed by dancing to our local group 'The Alde Boys'. On Sunday 25 July, there will be a 5-a-side football competition and afternoon teas will be served in the village hall. Please make a note in your diary for what will be a great weekend.
